I have decided to stay with the Swiss Coffee that is on my walls, unless you have another suggestion. It looks good with my chocolate sectional and brown flooring.
The curtain panels are from a former house and they do not need to stay (I am tired of the dark green.) My big problem is the area above our land mass of a television. I want to have pictures done of my family to put there, but how many and what size should I order?
I'd love any suggestions you might have.
First of all- the TV is on the wrong wall. It should be on the wall that the long portion of the sofa faces. Put it on the chest that is there. It is much more charming than your TV stand.
Now- you have a nice big blank wall for your family photo collage- Maintain some great scale by filling the space. here are some fun ideas I found:
from Apartment Therapy
From Young House Love
From Currently Coveting
from the handmade home
Anyone have a favorite? I like to pull in some other photography in a larger collection- not just family photos. I like to have some kind of unifying factor, frame color, all black and whites, something. I like the combination of old photos from famly history combined with the newest baby photos. I like adding the letters and sconces. I like to add mirrors. For more ideas on photo collages- check here.
Be sure to do what I said, don't you dare leave the TV on that wall. I don't care if you have to hire someone to add a TV jack. It is an absolute necessity and needs to be done.
Your window treatments are as simple as finding a fabric you love. I would use a print, that you can use to draw colors from. For example:
This Amy Butler fabric has some chocolate brown in it, to make it look like your brown sofa was all part of a grand plan. Then pull in some pink throw pillows. I could totally see a wall of sepia photos in brown, pink and green frames.
Show off your new wall with some track lighting- like the one below from Pottery Barn.
Replace your table cloth with a runner like this one from Crate and Barell:
There you go- your place will look fabulous!
