My Vanity Night Stand

My DH is a wood worker and wants to make us night stands. I still have it in my head that I would like a vanity/night stand- (see this post) as our master bath is not large enough for a sit down vanity. I came across this table on Phoebe Howard's site and thought this could be the perfect design. I think I would add a drawer- but with no hardware- to maintain the sleek look. It can have a magnetic opening. DH's night stand can have the same style- but with two larger drawers- which I know he will want...

In my June Southern Living magazine I saw this little article showing a vanity being used as a bedside table. I don't have a vanity and yet dream of the life where I can leisurely sit and carefully apply make up and hold the curling iron in my hair as I SIT and look at my design magazines and sip my herbal tea. My master bath is plenty big, but requires a complete overhaul to produce a sit down vanity- which will not happen for years. And so- when I came across this article- I loved the idea. This particular vanity is from Drexel Heritage. The chair is from a junk store - re-upholstered by a talented person like Tamlynn :). The fabulous rick rack fabric is from Studio Bon.

Of course- what gives the room style is the wallpaper :).- From Osborne and Little- Benvarden W5600. What do you think? Would you like a vanity for a bedside table? The only issue I see is that my husband is still sleeping sometimes when I am getting ready...
