I Wonder if They'd Take a Flat Sixteen Million?

Dr. Phill and his wife are selling their 11,000 sf home in Beverly Hills. Check out the link below and tell me what you think. Is is over-the-top? Is it fabulous? Do you want Robin's closet? Would you have purchased an older home and had it updated- rather than newer construction? Would you have used more antiques? Would you have gone more modern and contemporary? Do you want Robin's closet? Do you find the Mediterranean feel a little over-done and uninteresting- or do you love it? Do you want Robin's closet? If you had the money that Dr. Phill does- would you have done things differently- or is this your dream house? Theoretically they are moving up to a hillside home with a better view. Or if your source of news is the Enquirer- they are selling to prepare for their divorce.... It's probably the view. For $16,500,000- it can be yours.

Keith Johnson and Glen Senk's New York Apartment

In today's post I wanted to show you pictures form Keith Johnson and Glen Senk's New York Apartment. These two are celebrities in the design world- but just in case you are unfamiliar with their names- Keith Johnson is the head antiques buyer for Anthropoogie. Truly- he has my dream job. Glen Senk is the CEO of Urban Outfitters.

I love to see what great designers do in their own homes- when they don't have the restrictions placed on them by clients.

I painted my trim the color of the wood work in the photo below. I cannot tell you how hard it was to convince my husband. "Even in the bedrooms..." "Yes- it goes great in the bedrooms!" "Are you sure?" "Yes- I am sure!" "Are you going to change your mind and make me re-paint it?" "No- never!" It went on and on for a couple of years. But now- it's done- I love it.

Check out these photos from the kitchen- I love the non-traditional feel. I love the antiques right next to the professional appliances. I also like the creative storage solutions.

Has anyone else noticed the great shutters throughout? Really charming.
Everything in the apartment has a story. That is the beauty of antiques. The sconces in the photo second from the top of the post came from a 1960's Italian Steamliner.
Check out the way the picture above the sofa in the photo below is off center. Interesting huh? Don't try that at home- Sometimes only professionals can break the rules and get away with it. Like putting a life size photo of an old lady in your entry- who'd of thought?
What an amazing, eclectic combination of chairs throughout.

What do you think? Any antique lovers out there? I think most homes benefit from a collection of the new and old. it gives a home so much more character than one where everything is newly purchased.
