The Ghosts of Girlfriend's Past and Castle

I saw a really terrible movie over the weekend that I wanted to share with you. It was not a movie that I would recommend for many reasons. I felt like it was stupid and predictable and pretty rude and plotless through most of it. With that said - it had a beautiful home in it. The majority of the home had very dark moldings in it - including the doors, as seen above. I could not really tell if they were stained ebony or painted black - but if you are considering such a look - this is a good place to check it out. The wainscot in the dark color was great in this house - because it was so large - but I think in most of our homes - the black walls would be a little
The kitchen was really beautiful. I wanted to draw your attention to the diamond motif painted on the cabinets. It was really very charming. I think especially because it was such a large kitchen, with a large expanse of white cabinets, the motif added interest in the room. What do you think? Did any of you see the movie? Did you like it more than I did? What do you think of the dark moldings and the motif on the cabinets? Would you have the guts to add such an element to your kitchen?
Just a little TV note while I'm at it- I saw "Castle" last night for the first time- and LOVED Nathan's apartment. Loved the sidelights by his front door. Loved the different wall surfaces that were everywhere. Loved it! Loved it! And - Stana's bathroom was shown on the episode - which was really great - but totally unrealistic that a detective would have such a fabulous bathroom. It was too expensive. But I'm OK with unrealistic if it is good interior design. I really liked the lattice material. Anyone know what I am talking about? I couldn't find pictures...
